Forging the future of Danville sports!

4GD (pronounced "forged") eSports club was approved by the Danville Area School Board in November of 2021. It's inaugural season began in March of 2022 and is gearing up for its third season in 2024.

So what is eSports? eSports is competitive gaming where multiple players work together and face other teams in a structured match. eSports is much the same as other traditional sports in it's competitive and teamwork aspects but doesn't have the phyiscal implications (good and bad). It's popularity is growing at an astronomical pace and worldwide viewership will soon be matched by no other traditional sport.

The 2022 spring season featured Rocket League®.  4GD competed in a league run by the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit (CSEL) and faced off against 4 other local districts (Montgomery, Shamokin, Southern, and Warrior Run). In the end, 4GD came home champions after beating Shamokin 3-0 in the CSEL tournament final. The 2023 and 2024 seasons featured Rocket League® and newly added Chess! The CSEL has now expanded to 8 teams and 7 teams respectively.
